Difference between short cycle and
long cycle controls
The short cycles (15 seconds) are designed for operation and optimization of the electrical consumption of the following heating devices: electric baseboard, convector, radiant ceiling.
Long cycles (15 minutes) are specifically designed for the use of fan-forced convectors. This type of heater requires a long cycle to allow the fan to push warm air into the room effectively. Using a short cycle with a fan-forced convector could damage the heater and thermostat.
