Install a thermostat for electric heating

Proceed as follows to install your thermostat for electric heating

In Quebec, electrical equipment must be installed by a member of the Corporation des maîtres électriciens du Québec (CMEQ).

Installation must comply with local and national electrical codes.

Damage to the thermostat resulting from incorrect installation is not covered by the warranty.

Follow the installation steps

Here is a detailed step-by-step guide that will take you through the installation of your electric heating thermostat.

1

Make sure that the breakers for your heating system are off at the main electrical panel to avoid any risk of electric shock

2

Unlock and lift the thermostat cover.

3

Use the provided wire connectors to connect the thermostat wires to the wires in the electrical box.

Note: The wires of this thermostat are non-polarized.

Two-wire installation

Four-wire installation

Make sure to tighten the wire connectors securely for a safe connection.

A poorly executed connection can lead to failure and present a fire hazard. Incorrectly connected wires can burn the wire connectors.

Special CO/ ALR solderless connectors must be used when connecting with aluminum conductors.

4

Use the screws provided to install the thermostat to the electrical box.

Replace the cover and lock.

5

Power up the thermostat.

After switching on the breakers, your Sinopé thermostat should turn on automatically.
