What happens to the smart water valve
in the event of a power failure?
VA4220WF/VA4221WF (2nd gen.)
If you have added 4 AAA lithium batteries OR an uninterruptible power supply (ACUPS-01) to the valve as a backup power source, the product will continue to operate normally and will shut off the water inlet if a leak is detected. This ensures normal valve operation for up to 24 hours.
If you have added 4 AAA lithium batteries AND an uninterruptible power supply (ACUPS-01) to the valve as a backup power source, the product will continue to operate normally and close the water inlet if a leak is detected. This ensures normal valve operation for up to 48 hours.
If the power outage lasts more than 48 hours, the valve will automatically close the water inlet* as a precaution before the device shuts down.
*Note: You will need to have previously configured your valve in Neviweb so that it will automatically shut off when the batteries are low or when there is a power outage.
VA4220ZB/VA4221ZB (2nd gen.)
If used as a secondary valve and containing the batteries as backup power*, the Zigbee valve will copy the actions of the main valve (VA4220WF) during a power outage.
However, if the Zigbee valve is used as the main valve while connected to the GT130 or another Zigbee gateway, no action will be triggered in case of power outage.
* IMPORTANT: Your Wi-Fi router and Zigbee Gateway must be connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) so that the valve closes when a leak is detected.
VA4200WZ/VA4201WZ (1st gen.)
If you have added 4 AAA lithium batteries to the valve as a backup power source, the product will continue to operate normally. It will close the water inlet if a leak is detected. The batteries ensure normal valve operation for up to 24 hours.
If the power failure lasts longer than 24 hours, the valve will automatically shut off the water inlet preventively before the appliance turns off.
