The different types of automation

Zigbee devices allow you to create automations based on time, sunrise/sunset, an event, or your presence.

Discover the different types of automation:

Time automation

A time automation is a program that allows you to trigger the actions of several devices at the same time according to the selected time and day.

This would allow us to create a time automation called “Wake-up” which would activate set temperatures on certain thermostats, turn on the lights and start the coffee maker plugged into a smart electrical outlet.

Note: For Wi-Fi and Mi-Wi devices, time automations are called “schedules” in Neviweb.

Sunrise/sunset automation

This type of automation allows you to trigger the actions of several devices at once a few minutes before or after sunrise/sunset.

This would allow us to create an automation for the yard that would turn on the outdoor lights of the house and stop the pool motor connected to the charge controller, 3 minutes after sunset.

Device automation

Device automation allows interaction between switches, dimmers, thermostats, and smart plugs. When you press a switch or dimmer, you can trigger actions on other connected devices. You must choose the condition and the reaction that the automation will trigger.

For example, I choose that a double click on the entryway switch (condition) will turn off the living room, kitchen and entryway lights that are connected to different switches (reaction).

Note: These automations are also compatible with Mi-Wi devices.

Presence automation

This type of automation allows you to activate or deactivate multiple devices depending on your presence at home. These automations can be triggered if you press the Present/Away status button located on the Neviweb dashboard or if you activate the geofencing feature and cross the selected perimeter.

This would allow you to create an automation that would turn on the lights in the entrance and hallway when you arrive home, or create an automation that would turn off the lights in the house and deactivate your smart electrical outlets when you leave the house.
