Can Calypso close my Sedna smart valve if it detects a water leak from the water heater?
It is not possible to automatically close a VA4220WF/VA4221WF Wi-Fi valve with the Calypso in the event of a leak detected by cable. The cable only detects the presence of water and sends an alert, without automatic action. For automatic closure, a WL4210C perimeter cable leak detector must be used and connected directly to the Wi-Fi valve.
It is not possible to automatically close a Wi-Fi smart valve (VA4220WF / VA4221WF) with the Calypso when a leak is detected near the water heater via the cable. The Calypso cannot be directly connected to the Wi-Fi valve.
What happens to the cable in this case?
The latter only allows you to:
- detect the presence of water ;
- to send you an alert so that you can intervene quickly.
Important
- No automatic valve closure is triggered in this configuration.
- Manual intervention is required to manage the leak.
What should I do if I want to shut off my water supply?
If you want your water inlet to automatically shut off in the event of a leak from the water heater, we recommend using a water leak detector with perimeter cable (WL4210C) .
Install the cable around the tank and connect it directly to your Wi-Fi valve.
Important
The water detection cable connected to the Calypso controller only detects leaks and sends an alert. It does not automatically close the valve.
