How does the multifunction controller work when connected to the Sedna smart valve?

The MC3100ZB multifunction controller allows the Sedna smart valve to be connected to an alarm system to automate the opening/closing of the valve according to the system’s arming, thus preventing water damage. It can also send an alert to the alarm center if a leak is detected, triggering the automatic shut-off of the water. Specific connections to the alarm panel are required.

The multifunction controller (MC3100ZB) can be connected to the Sedna smart valve and interfaced with an alarm system to trigger certain actions.

Here’s what this installation allows:

A) Automatic opening and closing of the valve

It is possible to open or close the Sedna smart valve automatically by arming or disarming your alarm system depending on your movements. This way, water damage can be avoided when you leave your home.

Therefore, in order for your valve to close automatically when arming your alarm system, you must connect the output which indicates that the system is armed to input 1 (In 1) of the multifunction controller ( see diagram ). The valve will reopen when you disarm the alarm system upon your return.

Note: Ensure that there is a relay output (dry contact) available in your alarm panel for connecting the cable from the MC3100ZB (In 1), or a PGM (programmable) output that controls a relay board.

B) Alarm control panel warning

It is possible to notify the alarm center when a water leak is detected by your Sedna water damage protection system. As soon as a water leak is detected, the signal is sent to the Sedna valve to trigger the automatic closure of the water inlet. An alert is sent to the alarm panel via the multifunction controller, and the information is then shared with the alarm control center.

To do this, you must connect output 1 (Out 1) of the multifunction controller to an area of ​​the alarm system panel ( see diagram ).



Note: Ensure there is a free area (ZONE X) in the alarm panel for connecting the cable from the MC3100ZB (Out 1).
