Understanding the indicator light on my switch or dimmer
The indicator light on the switch or dimmer shows its status: flashing blue means Zigbee connection attempt, red indicates no gateway detected, two green or yellow flashes signal a key lock, solid green corresponds to Away mode, and off means no connection or loss of connection for more than 3 hours.
The indicator light (LED) on your switch or dimmer allows you to indicate the status of the device and facilitates diagnosis in case of a problem.
Here is the meaning of the different behaviors of the indicator light.
The indicator light flashes blue, then turns off upon connection.
When the indicator light flashes blue , it means that the switch or dimmer is trying to connect to your Zigbee gateway.
If the connection fails, the light will turn off after a certain time.
For more details on the pairing procedure, consult the instruction manual for your Zigbee gateway.
The indicator light flashes red during connection
A flashing red light indicates that the device is attempting to connect to the network, but no gateway is detected.
In this case :
- Make sure the gateway is properly plugged in.
- Check that an association session is in progress
If the problem persists:
- The device may be too far from the gateway
- Move the gateway closer or add a compatible device to act as a repeater.
⚠️ Note: a Zigbee device cannot act as a repeater for Mi-Wi devices, and vice versa.
The indicator light flashes twice in green or yellow when pressed.
When the indicator light flashes twice in green or yellow after pressing a button, it means that the device’s keys are locked.
To unlock them:
- Access device settings in Neviweb
- Or use your compatible gateway
The indicator light is permanently green
A steady green light indicates that your system is in Away mode.
To change this status:
- Access the Neviweb dashboard
- Select Present mode
The indicator light is off
The indicator light is only on when the device is connected to a gateway.
It can be switched off in the following situations:
- The device is not connected to a gateway
- The connection to the gateway has been lost for more than 3 hours.
