My thermostat does not appear in Apple Home even though it shows as connected. What should I do?
It can happen that the thermostat shows a connection to Apple Home without appearing in HomeKit. To resolve this issue, check that the thermostat is not in another HomeKit location. Otherwise, perform a factory reset by following the procedure described: go to the “Information” page, then “Reset,” and press both buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. The thermostat will restart and can be reconfigured. Affected models: TH1143WF, TH1144WF.
In some cases beyond our control, the thermostat may display a connection status to Apple Home even if it does not appear in the HomeKit app.
Here is the procedure to resolve this issue:
1. Check the thermostat’s location in HomeKit
- Make sure the thermostat has not accidentally been placed in another of your locations (homes, rooms, etc.) during the initial setup in Apple’s Home app.
2. Perform a factory reset
- If the thermostat does not appear in any of your HomeKit locations but continues to display “Connected to Apple Home” on its screen, a factory reset is necessary to clear incorrect pairing data.
Factory reset procedure:
- Hold the top button down for 10 seconds after reaching the maximum setpoint to access the “Information” page.
- Use the bottom button to navigate to the “Reset” page.
- Once on this page, press both buttons (top and bottom) simultaneously for 10 seconds.
Your thermostat will restart after this procedure. You can then restart the setup and pairing process with Apple Home.
