Several factors can accelerate their degradation. The main one occurs when the detector loses communication with the valve, for example, after a power outage, if the valve does not have a backup power supply, or during a prolonged power failure. In these situations, the detector continuously attempts to re-establish communication with the valve, resulting in increased energy consumption.

These conditions can be very energy-intensive and enough to completely drain the batteries in just a few days.
