Configure the actions triggered by the Absent/Present status
It is possible to change the presence status of a location manually from the Dashboard (Present/Absent button) or to make the change automatic using the geofencing feature.
Here are the steps to follow to configure the actions and instructions that will be executed by your smart devices when a presence status changes:
Configure the actions triggered by the Absent/Present status for the Zigbee protocol
For the Zigbee protocol, configuring actions triggered by the Absent/Present status involves creating presence automation.
To configure the actions triggered by the Absent/Present status In the Zigbee protocol, you must:
- From the Dashboard or main menu, tap Automation , then tap + Create automation . Select Presence from the trigger types.
- Enter the name you want to give the automation, then choose the condition
(If I arrive at the location or if I leave the location). - Next, specify all the actions that will be performed by your devices by tapping +Add action . Follow the on-screen instructions, then save.
- Repeat step 3 for each device to which you want to apply a presence setting.
- Create a second presence automation to define the actions your devices will perform based on the remaining condition (If I arrive at the location or If I leave the location). To do this, follow steps 1 through 4 again.
Note: You can disable an automation at any time if you do not want it to run.
By unchecking the “Automation enabled” option, you avoid deleting the automation and losing all actions related to that automation.
Configure actions triggered by the Away/Present status for Wi-Fi and Mi-Wi protocols
For Wi-Fi and Mi-Wi protocols, the configuration of actions triggered by the Absent/Present status by assigning instructions in absence in the device settings.
Configure the actions triggered by the Away/Present status via the location settings:
- From the Dashboard , tap the building icon to access the Locations page.
- Tap Edit , then select the location or long press the desired location to access its settings.
- Open the Away Mode Settings menu, assign instructions to your devices using the drop-down menus, and then save.
Configure the actions triggered by the Away/Present status via a device's settings:
- Select a device to which you want to assign an absence setting, then access the settings.
of this device. - Open the Settings menu, then scroll down until you see the Instruction in Absence field. Select your preferred option from the drop-down menu.
- Press the Save button at the bottom of the page. Then repeat steps 1 to 3 for all devices to which you want to assign an away setting.
Note: When your location is in Present status, the devices follow the programmed schedules.
