Configure the actions triggered by geofencing
The geofencing feature allows you to automatically change the status of a location from Present to Away.
Here are the steps to follow to determine the actions that will be performed by your smart devices when you use the geofencing feature.
Configure geofencing for Zigbee devices
When you leave the area defined by the geofencing feature, your location status automatically changes to Away . Your smart devices will then execute the away instructions you have set.
To select absence or presence instructions, you must:
- Create an automated presence system.
From the Dashboard or main menu, press the Automation button . - Tap + Create automation and select Presence as the trigger type.
- Fill in the required field for the automation name.
- Determine when and where you want the automation to run.
- Choose the devices you want to automate.
- Press Save .
Configure geofencing for Wi-Fi and Mi-Wi devices
When you leave the area defined by the geofencing feature, your location status automatically changes to Away . Your smart devices will then execute the away instructions you have set.
To select an absence instruction, you must:
- From the devices screen, select the device to which you want to assign an absence setting, then access that device’s settings by pressing
. - Open the Configuration menu, then scroll down until you see the Instruction in Absence field.
- Select your preferred option from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Save button located at the bottom of the page.
- Then repeat steps 1 to 4 for all Wi-Fi or Mi-Wi devices to which you wish to assign an away rule.
When your location status is ” Present” , the devices follow the programmed schedules you have determined.
