What are the differences between the Sinopé water leak detector models?
Sinopé water leak detectors share several common features (water detection, alerts, integration with the Sinopé Neviweb app and automatic valve closure), but are distinguished mainly by their type of installation, their detection range and their compatibility.
Features common to all models
All Sinopé water leak detectors offer the following features:
- Rapid detection of the presence of water (from ~0.4 mm)
- Détection en cas de risque de gel
- Notifications (email, push) in case of leaks, risk of freezing, or low battery.
- Built-in audible alarm
- Integration with the Sinopé Neviweb application
- Option to trigger the automatic closure of the smart water valve
- Battery operated (up to several years of battery life depending on the installation)
The different models and their specific features
1. Standard detectors: ideal for simple detection at a specific point (e.g., under the sink, near the toilet or shower)
- WL4210 (2nd generation)*
- Dual detection: in addition to the electrodes under the device, it is possible to connect a remote 4-foot probe or a perimeter cable via the port provided for this purpose.
- WL4200 (1st generation)
- Simple protection: electrodes directly under the device
- Simple protection: electrodes directly under the device
2. Detectors with remote probe: ideal for confined or hard-to-reach places (e.g., under the dishwasher, under the washing machine)
- WL4210S (2nd generation)*, WL4200S (1st generation)
- 4-foot external probe connected to the detector
- Submersible probe in water
3. Detectors with perimeter cable: ideal for covering a large area (e.g., around the water heater)
- WL4210C (2nd generation)*, WL4200C (1st generation)
- 7-foot cable connected to the detector
- Detection along its entire length
*Second-generation detectors are not compatible with first-generation Sinopé valves (VA4200WZ, VA4201WZ).
