Why is the displayed outdoor temperature or time incorrect?

If the outdoor temperature or the time displayed on your thermostat screen seems wrong, here are the checks to perform.

1. Check the device’s Internet connection

The outdoor temperature and time are synchronized via the Internet.

Make sure that:

  • The device is properly connected to the Wi-Fi network
  • Your Internet connection is working correctly
  • The device appears online in your Neviweb account

If the device is offline, the displayed information may be inaccurate or may not update.

2. Check the postal code in your Neviweb account

The outdoor temperature and time are determined from the location information associated with your account.

Make sure that:

  • The postal code entered in the location settings of your Neviweb account is correct.
  • It corresponds to the address where the device is installed.

An incorrect postal code can cause an incorrect outdoor temperature or wrong time zone to be displayed.

3. Understand possible outdoor temperature discrepancies

Our weather data comes from Environment Canada and is updated every 30 minutes on devices.

However, the displayed temperature may differ by a few degrees. This can be explained by several factors:

  • The weather stations used by different platforms are not always located in the same place.
  • The reference station may be several kilometers from your residence.
  • Your immediate environment can influence the actual temperature (mountainous region, proximity to a body of water, urban area, wind exposure, etc.).
